UMBC DESIGN CLUB

UMBC Design Club (UDC) was a student organization that hosted in-person art and social events on the UMBC campus. I served as a club officer for four semesters, where I was responsible for the club’s digital marketing.

Social Media Advertisements

A selection of advertisements created for UDC’s social media marketing. The club is marketed towards creative and social students, so I made fun visual elements the focus of each design. Each design incorporates imagery that represents the event - often with a mockup or composited image - so viewers know what to expect at a glance.

Across my designs, I utilized a variety of vibrant color combinations and eye-catching visual styles to make each piece distinct while embodying its respective event. This also ensures the marketing is fresh and exciting.

Adobe Illustrator  -  Vector asset creation.

Adobe Photoshop - Compositing and color correction.

Logo/Branding

I collaborated with graphic designer and fellow club officer Sara Bondroff throughout the entire process of creating UDC’s logo and branding.

The goal was to create something fun and expressive that reflected the club’s energy, and the best way to represent that was through a colorful and detailed logo. It was designed to evoke those emotions as a stand-alone piece, while complementing the other elements it would appear alongside in marketing materials. For the branding, we chose a varied color palette and simple, complementary typography to give ourselves flexibility and more creative freedom when creating marketing assets.
